While global poverty has decreased significantly over the long term, a significant portion of the world’s population still lacks access to all basic needs—such as safe food, shelter, clean water, and sanitation—especially when using higher, modern standards. As of 2025/2026, roughly 1 in 10 people (around 800 million) live in extreme poverty.

Our world government (formally the United Nations) has developed plans to address these long-standing issues.

Rise in the number of global citizens

"One God, One World, One Humanity"

Increasing numbers of citizens are choosing to become global citizens. But what exactly does it mean to be a global citizen?

A global citizen is an individual who identifies as a member of a larger, worldwide community. They recognize that their actions and words can impact people and the planet all over the globe. Global citizens are aware of their role in the broader world and consider themselves 'citizens of the world.'
